Brazil okays 105 MW of PV projects to enter incentives scheme
October 7 – Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy approved four solar energy projects with a combined capacity of 105.13 MW to enter the national Incentive Regime for Infrastructure Development (REIDI).
The total cost of the projects is estimated at some BRL 461.72 million (USD 144m/EUR 128.6m). More details are available in the table below.
The Pirapora projects in Minas Gerais are expected to start construction works by August 1, 2017 and be complete by November 11, 2018.
The Verde Vale III plant in Bahia broke ground on October 1 and its completion is expected by July 31, 2017.
REIDI, launched in 2007, grants tax incentives to companies investing in infrastructure projects within the transport, energy, sanitation and irrigation sectors.
