Bolivia to study 50-MW solar plant in Potosi – report

November 4 – Bolivia will start studies on the installation of a solar plant able to generate 50 MW to 60 MW in the Potosi department, La Razon daily reported on Tuesday.
The regional government has identified four possible areas and state-owned company Empresa Nacional de Electricidad (Ende) is to take a decision on the exact location of the plant.
The project will require an investment of USD 120 million (EUR 110.3m), Bolivian president Evo Morales said on Monday.
According to the energy ministry, the investments in 287 MW of solar, hydroelectric and geothermal projects and 20 MW of micro power units in the Potosi department will exceed USD 1 billion in the next 10 years.
