Honeywell Solar Powered Attic Fan with 12-watt 24-volt Dc Motor and 12-watt Panel

  • 12W solar panel/24V motor, effectively vents 1250 sq. ft
  • Thermal switch controls the fan based on the temperature in the attic. When temperatures reach 85?F the fan turns on. When temperatures drop below 65?F the fan shuts off.
  • Makes an ideal replacement for existing static vents
  • No cost operation/No electrical wiring required
  • May reduce overall household energy consumption by reducing your use and need of AC

The Honeywell 12W solar powered attic fan helps lower attic temperatures to keep your home cooler in the summer – You’ll use your air conditioning less and save on electricity. What are the best reasons to get a solar attic fan? An Attic fan can reduce your electricity bill. When your attic temperature gets too hot the heat can transfer to your living space which means you need to run your air conditioning more. Use of a solar attic fan may reduce your AC use which helps to conserve energy and may increase the lifespan of your AC unit. It also can prolong the life of your roof. Roofs that are overheated but under-ventilated are more susceptible to mold, mildew and rot. Proper ventilation with a solar attic fan may reduce moisture build up and reduce risk of these problems.

I am using this pump in a small pond with a small waterfall – it is a strong, hard-working pump and works just fine in this application. I wouldn’t recommend it for a big pond, but for the smaller one it works great. My “pond” is only 2 ft X 4 ft and I don’t have the pump turned all the way up to full force.

    Beckett G210 (210 gph) pond pump, June 4, 2006

This review is from: Beckett 7060110 210 GPH Underwater Pump for Small Ponds, Fountains, Waterfalls (Lawn & Patio)

I have used this pump in my 4′ diameter pond with fountain statue in the center. The inlet on my lotus flower statue is 3/8″. The outlet on the pump is 1/2″ so I have a reducer. I also have a flow restricter on the line so I can adjuct the flow which is acceptable. It will give a nice dispersed spray a foot+ in the air on my statue. It has worked fine since 1998 and just died after 8 years of near continuous running. I got it at Home Depot & they still sell it for about 50. I’m going to buy another identical one. I have it in the Beckett filter box model MFB235 with foam filter. My pond has fish and is under a tree so the filter box has kept the crud out of the pump. I’m not always good on regular filter cleaning and at times the flow has almost been starved to the pump. But with out the filter I would be cleaning the pump inlet screen all the time in my application.

This review is from: Honeywell Solar Powered Attic Fan with 12-watt 24-volt Dc Motor and 12-watt Panel

I was having my roof replaced in July 2010. I purchased the Honeywell Solar powered Attic Fan at Sam’s Club for $189 each. These units are excellent, and performed as well as units 2X the price. Living in the Houston area attic temperatures get up to 180F in the summer. These two units kept the attic close to outside temps, without using any grid power to do so. Great product Honeywell!
