BayWa takes over Green Hedge’s UK solar O&M arm

January 12 – The renewables arm of German diversified group BayWa AG (ETR:BYW6) has expanded its own operations and maintenance (O&M) portfolio by acquiring a UK business from Green Hedge.
In particular, Munich-based BayWa re renewable energy GmbH has acquired Green Hedge Operational Services Limited, which has O&M mandates for solar photovoltaic (PV) plants in the UK with a combined capacity of 160 MW, according to a press statement published on Thursday.
This expands BayWa’s total solar and wind O&M services portfolio in the UK to 620 MW. Globally, the renewables arm of BayWa manages over 2.2 GW of capacity, it says.
With this transaction, BayWa is also adding 13 employees to its existing UK service team, comprising engineers, technicians and asset managers.
The buyer did not disclose the value of the deal.
