BayWa re offloads 17.7-MW solar farm in England to CEE
March 23 – The renewables arm of German diversified group BayWa AG (ETR:BYW6) said on Tuesday it has sold the 17.7-MWp Homestead solar park in England to Hamburg-based renewables investor CEE Holding GmbH & Co KGaA.
BayWa re renewable energy GmbH will continue to manage operations at the solar plant, which was hooked to the grid in the spring of 2015 under the country’s Renewables Obligations (RO) scheme. The facility, financed by the Aerzteversorgung Westfalen-Lippe (AeVWL), has a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) in place with McDonald’s Restaurant Ltd.
To date, BayWa re has built solar and wind parks in the UK with a combined capacity of over 260 MW. It is currently working on the 45-MWp Vine Farm solar plant in eastern England.
“I’m also very pleased to announce that, in the coming weeks, we will connect further solar projects with a capacity of 130 MWp to the grid,” said Matthias Taft, board member of BayWa AG, responsible for the energy business.
