Acciona signs 189MW turbine deal with NaturEner
UNITED STATES: Acciona Windpower has been handed a contract from NaturEner USA’s for its189MW Rim Rock wind farm in Montana.
The project will use 126 1.5MW turbines with 77-metre rotor diameter. Acciona will also manage, turbine startup and the operation and maintenance of Rim Rock for seven years. Project installation will take place throughout 2012.
Acciona has supplied a total of 1,314MW of turbines to the North American market: 713MW to the US, 556MW in Mexico and 45MW in Canada.
Acciona has already supplied NaturEner with 210MW of turbines for Glacier I and II, also in Montana, which have just completed three and two years of operations respectively.
Glacier I and II combined have have generated in excess of 1,500GWh of energy, enough to power around 50,000 homes per year.
