November 4 – Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy approved three solar energy projects with a combined capacity of 90 MW to enter the national Incentive Regime for Infrastructure Development (REIDI).
Located in Ceara state, the Apodi II, III and IV solar projects, as they are named, will break ground on November 5, 2017. Completion is expected by November 5, 2018. The total cost of the projects is estimated at some BRL 420 million (USD 129.3m/EUR 116.5m).
These schemes are part of the 210-MW Apodi solar complex, comprised of seven solar plants of 30 MW each and developed by Brazilian renewable firm Kroma Energia.
REIDI, launched in 2007, grants tax incentives to companies investing in infrastructure projects within the transport, energy, sanitation and irrigation sectors.
