Japan’s JAG completes 1.5-MW PV plant in Hokkaido
October 21 – Green infrastructure company Japan Asia Group Ltd (TYO:3751), or JAG, said today it has concluded work on a 1.46-MW solar plant on Hokkaido island in Japan.
The photovoltaic (PV) system can produce enough power to meet the annual demand of 288 local homes. Named Muroran Solar Way, the project was developed by JAG’s subsidiary Kokusai Kyogo Co Ltda.
Located in Muroran city, the plant covers an area of 40,000 sq m and uses solar panels supplied by Canadian Solar Japan, the local subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc (NASDAQ:CSIQ).
Japanese firm NEC Networks & System Integration Corporation was responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work. Local utility Hokkaido Electric Power Company Co Inc is the sole purchaser of the plant’s output.
Back in August, JAG also completed a 2.1-MW solar plant in Niigata.
