Japan’s JAG completes 832-kW PV system in Shiga
April 19 – Green infrastructure company Japan Asia Group Ltd (TYO:3751), or JAG, said today it has completed a 832-kW solar array in Japan’s Shiga prefecture.
The system is expected to produce enough electricity each year to meet power demand from 153 local homes. The photovoltaic (PV) array was developed by JAG’s subsidiary Kokusai Kyogo Co Ltda.
Located in the city of Nagahama, the plant spreads over an area of 9,887 sq m (106,422 sq ft). Its solar panels were supplied by Kyocera Corp (TYO:6971). Japanese firm NEC Networks & System Integration Corporation was responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work. The PV system output will be sold to local utility Kansai Electric Power Co Inc (TYO:9503), noted the company.
Back in February the company announced it planned to raise some JPY 6.7 billion (USD 61.4m/EUR 54m) for solar projects in Japan.
