to-the-point Japan’s Koyo completes 2.1 MW PV plant in Tochigi
November 27 – Japanese Koyo Eletric Corp announced Wednesday it completed the construction of a 2.1-MW photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Tochigi Prefecture.
The KCT Koyo Nasu Photovoltaic (PV) Power Plant, as it is named, is a joint venture between Koyo, Kyocera Corp (TYO:6971) and Century Tokyo Leasing Corp (TYO:8439).
Built on a 23,472 sq m area in Nasu city, the plant started selling its electricity on November 11, according to Koyo’s press release.
With 7,964 of Kyocera’s solar sheets, the PV plant can generate about 2 million kWh per year, equivalent to the demand of some 650 local homes.
Over the next three years, the company expects to have a solar portfolio of 25 MW.
