Chile D’E Capital working on PV projects – report
October 6 – Chilean investment fund D’E Capital is working on two photovoltaic (PV) projects in the central part of the country which will be presented to the environmental authorities in March 2016, chairman Emilio Pellegrini has told local daily La Tercera.
The fund, focused on renewable energy, is looking for places with better electricity prices which in the case of its projects are projected at nearly USD 100 (EUR 89.14) per MWh. The central zone was selected in accordance with the available transmission infrastructure, given that some enterprises in the northern sector of the SIC power system are unable to export their complete output to the grid.
The fund alone is in charge of USD 25 million and could develop projects worth some USD 100 million through debt, Pellegrini said.
According to its website, D’E Capital is mainly interested in Chile’s hydro and solar energy resources.
