Innovative Solar says 376-MW US portfolio awaits final clearance
October 5 – US developer Innovative Solar Systems LLC (ISS) said on Monday it is “wrapping up” final approvals for various utility-scale solar projects with a combined capacity of about 376 MW.
These shovel-ready projects are located in a number of southern states and vary in size from 5 MW, 20 MW and 35 MW to 50 MW. Their future owners will benefit from long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with “credit worth utility companies”, ISS said in a press release.
According to chief executive John Green, the particular portfolio represents just a fraction of the firm’s 2016 pipeline of large-scale solar projects totalling some 2 GW.
North Carolina-based ISS has developed and sold more than 800 MW of solar schemes to date. It currently has three of the largest projects ever to be built in North Carolina — one 75-MW and two 80-MW schemes.
