Vogt brings 132.4 MWp of UK solar online in Q1

April 16 – German solar developer ib vogt GmbH and its UK subsidiary vogt solar ltd brought online 132.4 MWp of solar capacity across eight sites in the UK during the first quarter of 2015.
All projects were sold to institutional investors, the company said Wednesday. They range in size from the 5.9-MWp Crundale extension in Pembrokeshire to the 34.7-MWp Port Farm project in Sussex. The developer also completed the 8.1-MWp Horam scheme in Sussex, the 10.5-MWp Wrockwardine facility in Telford and Wrekin, the 11.6-MWp Pashley solar farm in Sussex, the 15.3-MWp Castle Combe project in Wiltshire, the 18-MWp Molehill plant in Kent and the 28.3-MWp Gloucester plant in Gloucestershire.
The solar farms are expected to produce about 133 GWh per year, enough to power over 32,000 homes. They were connected to the grid ahead of the deadline for the 1.4 Renewables Obligation Certificate (ROC) subsidy regime.
The scope of ib vogt’s activities included development and permitting, design and engineering, procurement and construction, operations and maintenance, as well as construction financing and marketing of the projects.
Since 2011, the company has installed 330 MWp of solar capacity in the UK, 196 MWp of which under 1.4 ROC. It said the country would remain a major market. The developer has a project pipeline of more than 300 MWp in the UK, including 100 MWp fully consented with construction set to start in the next months.
